Advanced Work with B3Flat System

This is a team exercise using PowerWorld Simulator. You will use the simulation cases already provided with the software. Teams should have two to three students

1. Demonstrate that the current operating point satisfies the cost-minimization condition that the "penalized" marginal costs are equal. Use the loss sensitivity factors in your calculation.
2. Demonstrate that reallocation of generation from this economic optimum will increase costs by reallocating generation levels of the Home Area generators by plus or minus 20MW in 10MW steps. Graph total cost in the Home Area as a function of the reallocation levels. Be sure to take the generators in the Home Area off of economic dispatch control to do the reallocation. Also, be sure that Area Control Error is zero after each reallocation.
3. Determine whether the system survives the loss of the largest unit.
